BEWARE!! CITY HARVEST WILL CHEAT YOU!!
I've onced attended this "church" called 'city harvest' at dhoby ghaut.there are some things i've noticed there....
(SURE, NOTICE ALL YOU WANT, but number firstly and most strongly, city harvest is NOT located at dhoby ghaut. in before epic fail.)
1) MUST pay 10percent of your allowance+income every week you attend it.
(nah, it's encouraged, but not COMPULSORY. as someone else commented, they dont hold a knife to your throat, or a gun to your head. AND this is called tithing. not just a "donation". so plz gat ur fakts rihgt.)
2) all bibles must be covered with wrapping paper..
(WHAT? HAHAHAHAHA. YOU THOUGHT WHAT, BIRTHDAY PRESENT AH?)
3) NO adults there. every single person are teenagers!! and their parents are not allowed to know about this.
(if everyone is teenager, means youth service lo? and how you know their parents not allowed to know. hahaha, i think the people all v youthful, cannot tell the difference. xD)
4) it's hall is held in a CONCERT HALL inside a shopping center, with rocking band and loud music.
(that's another really strong point. City Harvest is one church at two locations : JurongWest and Expo. we have our own BUILDING at JW, and expo sure as hell aint a shopping centre.)
5) new people will be recruited every week.
(you mean ministry? they sign up. you mean becoming a christian? their own choice.)
6) every week, everybody needs to drink a cup of "god's blood" which is so-called for good luck
(please omg no they dont. LOL. this is called Communion, and roman catholics should know what it is about. THEY DONT DRINK BLOOD, AND IT'S NOT FOR LUCK.

7) the church teaches the teenagers to ONLY believe in god, and not to trust your friends and family.
(religious beliefs and trust in loved ones is of course different. i dont mean to insult you, but seriously which part of this is not being understood? ONLY BELIEVE IN GOD as your God. that means you dont believe in other religions.)
8) the priest likes the use the word 'aman' to change the topic when it gets sensitive about having the teenagers to having a second thought. because 'aman' means something like neutral or agree+disagree.
(like Ger said, Amen means verily and truly. What the hell, where the hell are you getting your "meanings" of words and "understandings" of the church from? CHC touches upon, elaborates upon, splits open topics that many churches dont dare to touch, and they speak to all the youth about it. so please.)
9) they have groupings in different areas in sg, and they meet up very often.
(you're right. everyone has friends. school friends have cliques and meet up often. so do church friends. lol, got no life?)
10) their church songs are in techno and rock..................Zzz?
(sorry, anything wrong? praise is defined as giving thanks to God, whereas worship is to honour and glorify God. as long as these criteria are fulfilled, it doesnt matter if it's techno, rock, jazz, classical, etcetc. What did you expect, church hymns ONLY?)
11) they produce postcards to advertise their church and make their people recuit more and more people every week.
(nah, those are bulletins to show the members what's going on, and what's coming up in the church. you thought army ah, whole day use "recruit recruit recruit".)
i personally believe that this church is a total fake. they are trying to con money from teenagers like us.

nah, they have more than enough adults to cover "teenagers like you".)
based on personal experience, i've been to different churches, and all the church teaches us to love our friends and family and how to cherish them. but on the other hand, city harvest is the other way round.
(CHC teaches people to cherish their loved ones and treasure them.. 100% FAKUTO.)
donation M-U-S-T be voluntary, NOT compulsary.
(sure they are. it's even written on the offering envelope. what are you, blind?)
and why would they set a rule that all bibles should be covered in wrapping paper? are they trying to prevent them from exposing their secret of going to city harvest from their parents?
(NO, ITS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO GIVE THEIR BIBLES AS BIRTHDAY PRESENTS! :D)
i dont believe that any reason is good enough to explain all of these. but i can only warn people not to join. =.=

bottomline, i dont think she's been to city harvest.
it might be New Creation Church, since it's located in the Rock Auditorium in Suntec.
im not saying NCC does that kind of stuff. i honestly believe she's deluded.

but alright. just to dispell a giant myth.
TITHING AND A NORMAL DONATIONS ARE DIFFERENT. D-I-F-F-E-R-E-N-T. 不同.

some may say i have a biased viewpoint.

isnt it better to have someone who knows what's happening tell you the truth? i have nothing against the poster, and no agenda to...advertise CHC.

all i want to do. is tell you what's real, and what's not.
you can visit if you like. but if you dont want to.
DON'T NEED TO! dont force yourself. later got another "my friend keep psychoing me to church" case.
